How to turn off ACR on a Hisense TV
Hisense groups content recognition under Enhanced Viewing, in the advanced system settings. The menus below come from Hisense’s 2024 and 2025 manuals for North America; European models may use different names.

VIDAA (2025 models)
From Hisense’s 2025 user manual for the US, Canada and Mexico.
- Open the enhanced viewing settings.
- Turn off Enable Automatic Content Recognition. When the TV asks, choose No, thank you, then Yes, Decline.
- In the same menu, turn off Enable Content Recommendation and Enable Personalised Ads.
- Turn off personalised ads and reset the ads ID.
Google TV (2024 models)
From Hisense’s 2024 Google TV manual for North America.
- Turn off Automatic Content Recognition.
- Delete the Google advertising ID.
Menus change with TV updates: if a label does not match, look for the closest entry in the same section.
Who does the recognition
Hisense names its partners in its US privacy notices: Tremor Video for the enhanced viewing service on VIDAA (notice of June 2022) and Nexxen on Google TV models (notice of July 2025).
What stays on
Your consents to data sharing sit in Support, Disclaimer and Privacy, and are worth reading again after a reset. The TV’s own telemetry and the apps you install are not covered by these switches. In December 2025 the Texas attorney general sued Hisense, together with four other TV makers, over content recognition.
