Updates

Up to date, without saying who you are.

When you sign in to the console with your username and password, Velmo checks velmo.one for a new version and offers it to you with its notes. It installs only when you confirm, and only if it carries our signature.

Velmo software

«Check now», on the Device page, shows the new version on the very first click. It also includes what 0.1.16 brought: from the VELMO-ONE network the address velmo-one.local opens the console even without a cable to the home router; the console shows the mode actually in force, and «Blocked» is applied; the counts no longer start over when a log stops halfway through a line.

How to install

Three ways, always with your confirmation

From the console

The everyday way.

    Sign in to the Velmo console from your home network.

  2. 2

    If a new version is out, the Device page offers it to you with its notes.

  3. 3

    Confirm: Velmo downloads the file, checks its signature and updates itself.

With a USB stick

Even without internet.

    Download the file from this page and copy it, without renaming it, to the top folder of a USB stick.

  2. 2

    Plug the stick into the USB port on Velmo.

  3. 3

    Open the console: the offer appears on the Device page. It installs only when you confirm.

By uploading the file

When there is no USB stick at hand.

    Download the file from this page to your computer.

  2. 2

    In the Velmo console, Device page, choose the file and upload it.

  3. 3

    Confirm the offer that appears.

The file you download here carries the signature: Velmo checks it by itself, with the key built into it, even if it has never connected to velmo.one.

Recovery

If Velmo won't start

After an update that went wrong, Velmo tries to get back on its feet by itself: if it fails to start three times in a row, it goes back to the version it left the factory with. If that isn't enough, there is the reset button.

With the reset button

If Velmo turns on but doesn't work.

    With Velmo on, hold the reset button for at least ten seconds, then release it.

  2. 2

    Wait three minutes: Velmo goes back to how it left the factory, with its factory version and its settings erased.

  3. 3

    Sign in to the console: it will offer the latest version by itself.

Every version is signed

Velmo accepts only files that match the list signed with our key. A modified file, or one taken from elsewhere, is refused: from the console, from a USB stick and by upload alike.
